The just concluded ward and local
government congresses of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, have
divided the party structure in the state into two, with one side praising the
conduct of the election while the other side is opposing same and had called
for its cancellation.
The division is coming just as an
APC leader in the state, Major Isaac Tobore (rtd), who is aspiring to be the
state chairman of the party, said that the elections were inconclusive and
massively rigged, adding that what happened was a charade and a game of
selection done by decampees from other political parties outside the congress
venues, against the dictate of the party, the will and interest of the original
party members. He called for the cancellation of the entire elections.
Those applauding the congresses are
said to be made up of decampees from other political parties, who recently
joined the party while the other side opposing the congresses is said to be
made up of all former members of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN,
the All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, and the Congress for Progressive Change,
CPC, the three parties that collapsed into APC in the state, who are currently
calling for the cancellation of the exercise.
Can this be some of the problems the opposition parties are talking about that APC will be facing as soon as the election is coming.............God Bless Nigeria.
